  • Overview

    The Bowen Group is an industry leader in the provision of wellness services to the military and veteran communities. We are searching for a Social Media Strategist.  This is a full-time position located in Stafford, VA. 

    What you'll be doing at The Bowen Group

    • Provides thought leadership and technical expertise across all social media processes, technologies, platforms and strategies for audience engagement
    • Proactively engages with government clients; assesses requirements and recommends solutions; identifies new or value-added opportunities; promotes services and solutions tailored to organizational core competencies and strengths via meetings, contacts, white papers, presentations, demonstrations, etc.
    • Responsible for developing and executing a social media strategy and content plan through a variety of social media platforms
    • Identifies, develops and implements best practices and tools for program execution 
    • Oversees all social media project schedules; recommends work schedules and prioritizes work activities to meet project objectives
    • Stays abreast of new social media sites, platforms and emerging technologies 
    • Develops, maintains and updates as appropriate all social media standard operating procedures and checklists
    • Coordinates and provides live onsite social media support for client events as requested
    • Evaluates and analyzes social media tactics as part of the strategic communication process using various analytical tools; provides analysis and recommendations on social media strategies and tactics for monthly, quarterly and other reports as requested by client
    • Writes, posts and monitors social media content for a wide variety of platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
    • Performs other duties as requested

    What's a good fit

    • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years proven experience as a social media strategist
    • Familiarity with military community and quality of life programs a plus
    • Demonstrated experience building a program/campaign brand and increasing social media reach and engagement
    • Ability to understand client goals and objectives and how to translate those into social media objectives, strategies and content
    • Proven experience in social media planning and content development and curation, including exceptional writing skills and photo selection
    • Proven experience in social media metrics evaluation, analysis and application
    • Proven experience with a comprehensive suite of social media platforms and tools
    • Proven experience in applying and integrating multiple social media platforms and tactics in support of a communication campaign
    • Proven experience planning and managing live social media coverage of special events using social media tactics/platforms (e.g., live tweets, Instagram, etc.)
    • Ability to successfully pass a background check
    • PC literacy required; MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
    • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
