    The Bowen Group is an industry leader in the provision of wellness services to the military and veteran communities. We are searching for a Strategic Communications Specialist.  This is a full-time position located in Stafford, VA. 

    What you'll be doing at The Bowen Group

    • Conduct research, communication audits and assessments in order to identify client needs
    • Identify strategic communication goals and objectives
    • Draft or revise strategic communication plans to include, key messages, target audiences, tactics and strategies, and success factors in accordance with established template
    • Develop secondary, internal content development strategies supporting strategic communication goals and coordinate with other internal support staff through the content management system
    • Provides communications consultation in support of client as requested
    • Works with the client to support organizational communications activities, PowerPoint presentations, videos, webinars, etc.
    • Provides training as required on communication processes and products
    • Works with a matrixed team of graphic designers, content writers and editors, Web designers, and Web content specialists
    • Other duties as requested

    What's a good fit

    • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of four years’ experience in communications, marketing, public relations or a related field required
    • Experience in federal contracting environment
    • Familiarity with military quality of life programs
    • DoD experience preferred
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills
    • Demonstrated success performing multiple tasks effectively in a deadline-oriented environment
    • Proven ability to work with a blended local and virtual team of project managers, writers, technical developers, social media specialists, and designers
    • Proven track record of excellent customer service and consultative practices
    • Strong facilitation skills
    • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
    • Ability to successfully pass a background check
    • PC literacy required; MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
    • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
