Overview

The Bowen Group, a values-led, industry leader in telehealth, health communications, and wellness services and staffing, is searching for an Instructor / Facilitator.   

 

These are part-time positions in these locations:

  • Camp Lejeune, NC
  • Ft. Bragg, NC
  • Ft. Jackson, SC
  • Ft. Stewart, GA
  • Jacksonville NS, FL (Hub)
  • Patrick AFB, FL

Responsibilities

The Instructor / Facilitator will conduct career transitioning workshops to instruct Military Veterans and their spouses on necessary information and skills needed to secure meaningful and successful careers within the civilian labor force and to learn about credentialing and vocational training programs.  Successful candidates will facilitate 2-3 workshops a month or as needed. Workshops are 2 and 3 days in length (daytime hours). Willingness to travel to other nearby installations as required. Recruitment is limited to the local commuting area, within 50 miles of military installation. This position may require some traveling to other military installations as needed. Facilitators deliver multi-day career transition workshops to separating, retiring, and Wounded Warrior service members utilizing standardized curriculum's that may include topics focused on:

  • Job Search Techniques
  • Job Offer and Salary Negotiations
  • Professional Networking
  • Career Decision Making
  • Identifying Job Goals
  • Translating Military to Civilian Language
  • Marketing Transferable Skills
  • Resume Preparation
  • Dress for Success

Qualifications

  • Associates' Degree required, Bachelors’ Degree preferred, and at least 3 years’ experience as a professional trainer/facilitator
  • A broad knowledge, experience, and skills in the areas of military personnel, and human resources, especially as they relate to balancing civilian life with military service.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A keen observer of behavior, interpreters of non-verbal behavior and engaged listeners, possessors of an innate sensitivity to unspoken needs and acutely attuned to gauging the comfort of all participants
  • Extensive and intensive training and obtained proficiency and acknowledged expertise in career counseling or a related field
  • Must have a current and valid driver’s license to gain access to military installations
  • Knowledge of military protocol when addressing Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) and Government personnel and be able to effectively interface and communicate with civilian and military personnel at all level
  • Must own a computer, cell phone and have email capability
  • PC literacy required; MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check
